PROSOLI (Progressing in Solidarity), in collaboration with Fundación Tropicalia’s Soy niña, soy importante (SNSI), implemented “Baby, think about it well,” a socio-educational program to prevent teen pregnancy, with the participation of 63 girls from Miches.

Un día en el que somos llamados a promover el empoderamiento de las más jóvenes y exigir un mundo igualitario para todas ellas.
Fundación Tropicalia, through its program ‘Soy niña, soy importante’ (‘I’m a Girl, I’m Important or SNSI); and the Embassy of Canada in the Dominican Republic, signed an agreement for the development of the project 'SNSI in a Box', aimed at strengthening female inclusion and empowerment, as well as reducing risks of gender-based violence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are extremely proud to present Soy niña, soy importante in a Box (SNSI in a Box), an initiative that brings the magic of the SNSI summer camp to the homes of each of our girls in Miches, El Seibo province of the Dominican Republic.
During these difficult times, as we face the challenges presented by COVID-19, we find ourselves taking additional steps to ensure the well-being of our girls and their families, volunteers, and staff. Given this unfortunate situation, we regret to inform you that our Soy niña, soy importante (I’m a girl, I’m important, or SNSI) summer camp has been postponed until we overcome this health emergency and have more clarity from authorities regarding the current school year, since our activities take place on school grounds.

This year we have seen many advances in our initiatives to boost the sustainable development of Miches. We have counted on the participation of community members, children, parents, and teachers, who have all come together to make the future we want a reality.
The Fundación Cisneros rebuilds several primary schools in the town of Miches.
The president of the Cisneros Foundation is the third generation at the head of Venezuelan group that his grandfather founded 84 years ago, one of the largest corporations of the media and entertainment world. Today, Adriana dedicates her efforts to unite business and philanthropy. According to her, "it is completely natural to combine both worlds."
