In 2023, Soy niña, soy importante remained committed to innovation, forging new partnerships, and advancing initiatives to empower girls and young women in the municipality of Miches.

In commemoration of International Day of the Girl, we organized a film forum featuring the movie Ramona at the Miches City Hall to talk about children's rights. Students from the Padre Daniel High School, local authorities, colleagues from the National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI), and presidents of the neighborhood councils attended the forum.

The 2023 edition of the Soy niña, soy importante summer camp successfully culminated with the participation of 300 girls from Miches, who for three weeks enjoyed recreational activities with transformational messages that invited them to trust, empower and explore their inner self.

Every participant of Soy niña, soy importante embarks on a journey of self-recognition and self-worth, developing the confidence to know that she is capable of achieving her most cherished dreams. We remain faithful to the commitment we made 10 years ago to protect each girl’s childhood, guiding them in making timely life choices, and educating them and their community regarding their rights.

Grupo Bentrani and Fundación Tropicalia have joined forces in a fundraising event in support of the initiative "Soy niña, soy importante", with the objective of promoting the integral development of girls in Miches, El Seibo province.

Contributing to the professionalization of the tourism sector is essential to ensuring the integral development of Miches, which harbors an invaluable natural resource: talented young people. At Fundación Tropicalia we remain committed to supporting the sustainable development of Miches as evidenced through our scholarship program created in 2011 in partnership with ISA University (UISA).

In the month of March we celebrated International Women's Day, a date aimed at highlighting the value of women, uniting activists around the world, celebrating achievements and taking action to help improve and protect the rights of women and girls.

The Network of Ambassadors for Soy niña, soy importante, is composed of 18 influential figures in the country, giving voice, visibility and social awareness about the condition of Dominican girls and women.

The School Fund was created in collaboration with Tropicalia and Fundación Tropicalia partners to purchase school supplies, as well as to help repair the infrastructure needed to provide education to more than 2,000 Miches students by 125 teachers from School District 12-04.

At Soy niña, soy importante we welcome another year full of opportunities to continue to positively impact the girls and teens of Miches. 2022 marked our 10 year anniversary alongside our girls, and it has renewed our commitment to continue our efforts to protect their childhood and defend their rights.
