After nearly a decade of intense and passionate work in Miches, yesterday marked the beginning of construction of Tropicalia’s first hotel, a Four Seasons.
In a ceremony lead by Mr. Gustavo and Mrs. Adriana Cisneros, alongside Dominican President Danilo Medina, and members of the Miches community, a Mahogany tree –the Dominican National tree– was planted to symbolize the inclusive and sustainable spirit of Tropicalia and its commitment to the Dominican Republic.
Tropicalia creates a new model of tourism for the Dominican Republic: sustainable luxury tourism, which places us at the forefront of this industry in the Caribbean. It opens a new door for economic development in the region, as well as the country, one that is environmentally responsible, respectful of the local community and is also more profitable.
Fundación Tropicalia will continue to do as we’ve done for the past eight years, we will work to promote the sustainable socio-economic development of Miches and its population; working with the community to make them the protagonists of their own change and leaders of their own progress.
