Universidad ISA and Fundacion Tropicalia committed to yet another year of scholarships. After a comprehensive selection process that includes submitting a statement of purpose, and undergoing aptitude and socio-emotional testing, three more Miches high school grads will be joining the ranks as an ISA/FT scholarship student. To date, a total of 12 students enjoy an ISA/FT scholarship and are pursuing their bachelor’s degrees in agronomy or business administration. Another four Miches students are on a full scholarship at ISA in pursuit of their degree in Education & Natural Sciences, paid for by the Ministry of Education, for a total of 16 Miches students at ISA. We are also happy to share that three of our scholarship students also made the Dean’s Honor Roll last semester.

The value of being a girl
Friday August 7th we gave closure to the third annual summer camp "I’m a girl, I'm important" (SNSI), the fourth camp organized by Fundación Tropicalia. With the team of volunteers who have accompanied us during the three weeks of camp, we dispatched the last group of girls with games, laughter and tears of emotion throughout the experience.
Addressing a global issue through a local program: A girls camp in the Dominican Republic
As the summer dwindles down and the kids get ready to go back to school, we say good-bye to another wonderful summer and the successful completion of the “Soy Niña, Soy Importante” (SNSI) or “I’m a Girl, I’m Important” summer camp.
