Every year, from September through November, Fundación Tropicalia works with Junior Achievement Dominicana (JADOM) to bring financial literacy courses to high school students in Miches. In December, Fundación Tropicalia and JADOM graduated 200 students from the program from the high schools, La Gina and Padre Daniel. This program also supported the financial education component of the IDB / MIF project. During graduation, JADOM President of the Board, Salvador Demaillestre, and Executive Director César Asiático, joined us in Miches as keynote speakers, spreading inspiration and encouragement to our grads. In Addition to JADOM, 75 students from the La Mina elementary school also participated in Fundación Tropicalia’s arts & crafts program.

WE RECOMMEND
Another Year Where Girls Know How Important They Are
We have successfully completed another year of Soy niña, soy importante (I’m a Girl, I’m Important) summer camp, where 300 girls from Miches, ages 9 to 12, had the opportunity to share a week full of joy, games and lots of learning! One more year in which we strive to make sure these girls recognize how important they are for their families, their friends and, especially, for themselves.
Sustainable tourism to empower communities
"To face the future, in regards to the ocean and as well as around the world, we must aim for sustainable development. Responsible tourism helps empower local communities by creating shared value".
