During the 25^th to the 30^th of June, Miches celebrated its 8^th annual Semana Cultural Artemiches (Cultural Week Artemiches). Coordinated by Artemiches, with the help of the Ministry of Culture, Miches’ City Hall, Dirección Nacional de Participación Cultural, and Fundación Tropicalia, the cultural week brings artists and cultural leaders together  with  the purpose of sharing local artistic expressions, demonstrating the cultural beauty of the local community and creating a unique event for the town of Miches. This year Artemiches is honoring literature, promoting reading for children and adults. Events during the week include conferences, workshops, murals, live theatrical performances, art and book fairs, among many others. Fundación Tropicalia was especially honored as Protector of Local Heritage by Artemiches.
