Nearly a year ago Fundación Tropicalia, USAID and REDDOM joined forces to execute an agricultural diversification and food security program aimed at benefitting three rice associations in Miches. This project was created in efforts to diversify crop production via sustainable greenhouse cultivation to help rice associations troubled by salinization of soil and low productivity. This month we compared the numbers for the greenhouse production against that of rice production and the estimated annual net income for greenhouse production is about USD 1,000-4,000 more than the annual income of rice production.
