The Fundación Tropicalia Scholarship Program is in full swing! This month the six awarded scholarship students and FT representatives, Sofia Perazzo, Executive Director, and Katherine Duran, Education Programs Manager, as well as Nancy Peralta, Head of Student Well-being at University ISA and FT Scholarship Student Counselor, organized the first Cultural and Professional Exchange Day for FT Scholarship Students. The group embarked on a guided tour through the Dominican Heritage exhibition at the Cultural Center Leon Jimenes, and concluded with a luncheon interview with Jeanette Dominguez, alumni and agricultural consultant, where our students had the opportunity to exchange experiences, ask questions, and learn about the resources available to them.

Soy niña, soy importante Returns to the Homes of the Girls of Miches
Soy niña, soy importante, an initiative led by Fundación Tropicalia, accompanies the girls of Miches with the purpose of protecting their childhood, guiding them in making timely life choices, and educating them and their community regarding their rights. This edition of SNSI in a Box has a STEAM educational approach, where each box delivered includes activities for the girls to develop their scientific and artistic skills.
Gallagher: Teaching girls their value
I’m a big fan of giving back and making a difference, especially when it is for children in need. I also believe that making a difference has no boundaries. So sit back and let me take you on a trip to the Dominican Republic. That’s right — the D.R., a place where many residents of our valley head to hit the beach, windsurf, kite surf and let the good times roll.
