Easter: Costa Esmeralda prepares to welcome visitors

Fundación Tropicalia, in coordination with local authorities, the Ministry of Environment, the Municipal District of El Cedro and Miches' Government, carried out the Costa Esmeralda Beach Rescue project, one of the programs developed within our area of Environment and whose mission is the maintenance and conservation of the beach, as well as promote compliance with environmental regulations.

Since 2013, the Costa Esmeralda project has consisted of ongoing beach maintenance, facilitating a parking lot at a safe distance from the coast and a pedestrian walkway to the bathroom area, placement of garbage cans, training of personnel working in the area and the installation of signs to identify bathroom spaces and create awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal and not traveling with motor vehicles less than 60 meters from the sea.

On March 17 we hosted Easter's Coordination Committee, composed of City Council, the Civil Defense, the National Police, Tourist Police and the Dominican Navy, with the objective of preparing the beach to welcome the many tourists and Micheros who will visit during the Easter holiday.

Together, we cleaned loose garbage found around the beach, identified safe areas for swimmers to enjoy, conditioned the space near the beach parking lot and arranged so that members of the Civil Defense, Tourist Police and Navy are ready to receive, guide and protect visitors during their visit to Costa Esmeralda over the holiday.
